Pigeons are not native to Arizona but they are a growing population in our urban area and are quite adaptable. Hence, they are very difficult to get rid of. If you buy a home with pigeons, accept the fact that you are buying a pigeon problem and that it may hurt your future home value and/or the ability to sell at fair market value.
Charles Walcott, a professor of neurobiology and behavior at Cornell University who has studied homing pigeons for 30 years, says that if you eliminate pigeons in one area, other pigeons living nearby will replace them.
