La Grande Orange Grocery (LGO)
Looking for groceries, food, pasteries, wine and flowers all under one roof? Well look no further. La Grande Orange is on the top of our FAVORITE places. Located on the corner of Campbell and 40th Street in the heart of what used to be the Arcadia Orange Grove, La Grande Orange is the true convenience store. As my friend visiting from Los Angeles said when I took her there, "It is so nice to be around normal people." Of course she is from Los Angeles, so her perception is a little altered. But it is true, this hidden place makes even an out of towner feel right at home. You must visit at least once!

The Poisoned Pen Bookstore
The name should clue you into what type of bookstore it is...it specializes in mysteries! If you love to read this hidden treasure is the place to be. Visit in the evening and you may happen upon a book signing. Some of the visiting authors include Jodi Picoult, Diana Gabaldon, Alexander McCall Smith, Janet Evanovich, and Robert Parker.
