This is a 24-hour guard-gated, masterplanned community in northeast Scottsdale, just north of Shea Blvd on 136th Street. Perched on the gorgeous slopes of the McDowell Mountain Preserve, most homes in Scottsdale Mountain look out over gorgeous views of the city and surrounding ranges. Many of the residents moved here to enjoy easy access to the mountain's network of hiking trails.
This area is close to Scottsdale's top rated schools, lots of golf courses, and quality medical facilities such as the Mayo Clinic. There are also lighted tennis courts, a basketball court and a hillside spa, perfectly situated to enjoy the lights of the city.
There are currently 671 homes at Scottsdale Mountain. Building started in 1989, with the biggest development occurring in the mid 90s and 10-50 homes built each year thereafter. Many resale homes are available, but the gradual, sustainable development means that investment in the region is ongoing. The Villas is a luxury townhome development at Scottsdale Mountain. There are also plenty of single- and multi-story single-family homes of all sizes. The average home size is about 3200 square feet and over half of the homes have pools. Three-car garages are by far the most popular, but some homes have much larger garages, while many also have just one- or two-car garages.
The building of custom homes has assured that the selection of styles here is diverse. The builders include Golden Heritage, Monterey Homes and Edmunds, but again, the custom homes in Scottsdale Mountain - have been designed by a number of quality architects.
